On June 13, the delegation headed by Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan arrived in Stepanakert on a working visit. This is the first official visit of the new Mayor of Yerevan to the capital of the Republic of Artsakh.
Mayor of Stepanakert Suren Grigoryan and officials of city community departments met Hayk Marutyan with the traditional bread and salt at Artsakh’s symbol, the monument “We are our mountains” in Stepanakert. Then, accompanied by Suren Grigoryan and others, the guests visited the Memorial of the capital and bowed flowers to the memorial to the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War and the Artsakh War. They paid tribute and laid flowers on the graves of freedom fighters killed in the Artsakh war, which are on the territory of the Memorial.
‘I came here with a high mood and, by arriving and breathing the pure air of Artsakh and receiving the positive emotions of the Artsakh people it became higher, more combat, more decisive, so to speak... Naturally, we have to talk about the things to do with the mayor of Stepanakert: we imagine the directions of cooperation, but everything will be clarified during the upcoming meetings. One thing is clear and important to me: I want people in Yerevan to feel the breath of Stepanakert more’, - told Hayk Marutyan at a briefing with reporters.
